Frequently Asked Questions
Is my dog suitable for daycare?
All dogs over 6 months old must be desexed. After this age, dog owners may provide a certificate from a veterinarian stating the reasons for the dog not to be desexed. It will be up to the centre's discretion whether to accept this dog or not. All dogs must have a valid C5 vaccination certificate
If you're new, your dog will undergo a Trial, which will determine their suitability for daycare.
What does the Trial Day involve?
We carefully assess every new dog to understand their behaviour and activity levels, ensuring they can join our daycare safely and happily. At the start of your dog’s first day, we bring them into the daycare area and introduce them to one of our handlers to see how they respond. From there, we gradually introduce them to one or two other dogs at a time, observing how they interact. If your dog responds well, they’ll be placed into a suitable playgroup where we continue to monitor them closely.
At the end of the session, you’ll receive a report card outlining how your dog interacted throughout the process. If everything goes well, your dog will be welcome to visit us anytime that suits.
What is the pen separation process?
We split play groups by temperament, so playful and energetic dogs are in one group, and quieter and more reserved dogs are in another. We don’t always separate based on breed, because we know all dogs are unique and have different needs.
What will my dog do during a day at daycare?
Daily Schedule:
We’re open every weekday, ready to greet familiar faces and welcome new friends. Our friendly team will settle your dog into their playgroup for the day, and for newcomers, we’ll guide them through their Trial Day while answering any questions you may have.
Once all the pups are comfortable, the fun begins! Your dog might enjoy ball games, rope tugging, or lively music to burn off that extra energy. We understand not every activity suits every dog, so we closely monitor playgroups to ensure everyone stays happy and safe.
11am – 12pm: Morning Nap Time
The energy winds down as we swap upbeat tunes for classical music. Blankets are laid out, calming aromatherapy fills the air, and snuggles are on offer. Some dogs snooze, while others simply enjoy a peaceful break, depending on their needs.
Lunchtime
After rest, some dogs are eager to play, while others need a gentle wake-up. Activities restart with gentler games—perhaps bubble machines or solo toy time—before we reassess playgroups and resume exercises.
2pm: Training & Mental Stimulation
It’s time to get those brains working! We’ll practice tricks like sit, recall, spin, and paw shake, building on old skills and learning new ones.
Pickup Time
As the day winds down and groups become smaller, we maintain gentle exercise and relaxation. When you arrive, we’ll bring your dog to you and help you book their next visit. Check our Facebook page to see the day’s adventures! Once the last tail wags goodbye, our team gives the space a thorough clean, ready for another fun-filled day tomorrow.
